Helicopter Spirals Uncontrollably into Palm Trees at Frequented California Shoreline
A chopper flying over a well-attended coastal shoreline unexpectedly started spinning out of control, finally dropping height and crashing into a line of palm groves as onlookers watched.
Recordings posted on social media capture the aircraft commencing to spiral above Huntington Beach then plunging towards the perimeter of the coast, where it becomes wedged between palm groves and a set of stairs close to the coastal road.
Emergency Response Details
Local firefighters reported five people were transported to a medical facility comprising two individuals who were in the chopper and were “rescued from the debris” following the crash on that day.
Three individuals on the pavement were hurt. Specifics on their wounds were not yet released.
The reason for the accident was not yet disclosed.
